Positive: The apartment on the 1st floor of a typical Caribbean wooden house has everything you need. You can sit nicely on the terrace with a view of the sea across the street (cul-de-sac, so hardly any traffic). The small town of Vieux-bourg is very quiet. There is a bakery (baguettes for breakfast!), a small shop, and a stand with vegetables and fruit. The restaurants are only open on weekends in the off-season (e.g. November). We really liked the atmosphere here, and the people are very friendly. Negative: Hard to reach without a car. The last bus from Pointe-a-Pitre to Vieux-bourg leaves before 5 PM. By car (highly recommended) there are no issues. The owner sends very good directions from the airport to the accommodation via email or whatsapp (also easy to find in the dark).
