Quiet and has everything you need

If you like it quiet and away from the tourist hustle, you will find everything you need here. The village is small and many houses are abandoned. However, there seems to be a revitalization trend, and during our visit at Easter, many Cretan families gathered here to grill and celebrate. The location invites beautiful hikes in the scenic area, which also has a long history. For important shopping, it is necessary to drive to the supermarkets at the foot of the mountain. We found the supermarket in Gra Ligia quite good. There are tavernas in the village and the neighboring villages, but they were rather unvisited in the low season. Here, we recommend going to Myrtos, which offers charming eateries and a beach. The Smaragda house is idyllic and traditional. The rooms are well-equipped with all necessities. The double bed was excellently comfortable. For the fresh nights in spring, there is an air conditioning system with heating, which will probably be more used for cooling in summer. The terrace on the roof offers a wonderful view of the sea and the island of Chrissi. The second deck chair was unfortunately broken; there was only one usable. That should be easy to fix. We enjoyed the local stray cats that visited us regularly and that we took good care of. Unfortunately, many of them are injured from territorial fights. Overall a holiday away from the beaten tourist path.
