Stunning villa

Comment: We just returned from a 10-day stay in Mauritius in 11/2019. We stayed at the Hacienda villa, simply AMAZING, as described in the photos and description. We appreciated the tranquility, the garden, and the private pool as well as the direct access to the communal pool. We recommend renting a car, which is necessary to explore the island, and we used the rental service AKD at the airport. Thank you for the warm welcome from Emmanuelle upon our arrival. Lovely Mauritius We had a wonderful 10 days on a beautiful island in a very nice and comfortable house, situated in a very quiet area, within a short distance from charming villages, beautiful beaches, supermarkets, and good restaurants. The private pool is lovely and great for relaxing, and there is direct access from the garden to a large communal pool of the small apartment complex behind it. Despite the regular, sometimes heavy, rain showers, we made a lot of use of it. There is plenty of privacy. The space in the house is perfectly fine with a large living area and 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms. The equipment in the house itself is generally okay, but there are a few notes to make: there are few pots and pans. There is only one large frying pan (a bit too large to fry just one egg), and there are no sealable containers to store things in the fridge. For those who like to cook for themselves, it can feel a bit primitive. The chairs at the dining table are quite low, but the weather/temperature means that you basically eat outside all the time. The bed in the master bedroom on the ground floor is fine, the double bed upstairs is just about manageable (quite hard), and the two single beds in the third bedroom are very hard and very narrow, definitely too narrow for adults. There is good air conditioning throughout, except in the living room/kitchen. There is a unit, but when we inquired, we learned that it is not connected at all. Outside is very pleasant and was great for our group of 2 adults and a 10-year-old child. However, there are only 2 sun loungers by the pool and 2 comfortable chairs. And as there could certainly be 6 people staying, that's quite sparse. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Emmanuelle, who guided us and handed over the keys. She is very nice but only speaks French, making communication difficult for those who do not speak that language. There is cleaning/bed making every day except on weekends, regular maintenance of the garden and pool, which is nice. However, unannounced visits from a plumber who came to fix the kitchen tap (which was unsuccessful) and a realtor who stated he had been tasked with photographing everything for further rental are not ideal. Furthermore, communication with the owner and Emmanuelle was great. What we missed a bit was something in the fridge upon arrival. A bottle of water would have been very welcome after a very long flight and drive. Conclusion: definitely worth it with a few points for improvement.

Dream Stay

A simply magical stay with family in this stunning Balinese-style villa. Emma's advice and kindness were very helpful for our stay. Very well located near the beach, which we walked to. We returned enchanted by our holiday and highly recommend this villa in Mauritius in the beautiful setting of the Hacienda estate.
