Mixed reviews. We came for a weekend organized by our company. The house was impeccable. Perfectly matched the description. We had a great evening. However, the host, who tried to contact us on the evening of the booking, requested a security deposit of €1000. To which we replied that obviously, a deposit was expected, but we would retrieve it as soon as the inspection was completed the next morning. He agreed. After the inspection done that day and revealed to be impeccable with a woman in charge of the house, who, by the way, was excruciatingly unpleasant from the moment she arrived, we made the decision with her to say that the security deposit does not need to be held by the owner (all requested cleaning tasks had been performed). The owner then took the liberty to contact me to say that he was entitled to keep the security deposit for 1 week, claiming that the lock on the gate that encloses the pool area was rusty?? How is it possible for a group of people to rust a gate lock in one night without even having opened the gate from the stay? He added that we had made a mess until midnight. While we knew that we had indeed enjoyed the pool, the petanque court, and more with 12 adults since the house is supposed to be set up for activities. Moreover, there was no visit by the police nor any phone call to let us know that we had indeed made a mess... Between the gate and the so-called "mess" we created while playing petanque, I really wondered what this man had credible to reproach us for. These pharaonic excuses made the exchange with the owner incredible. For a rental of €1439 per night, we expected a slightly more suitable welcome.
